I have my LG DVD recorder connected into a Pioneer VSX-D209 amplifier with a Dolby Digital Decoder, and am unable to get surround sound unless I enter the Theater 1 or Theater 2 settings. This leaves the sound very hollow and echoing. I have tried changing the Dolby Digital, DTS and sampling frequency on the DVD recorder but it changes nothing. I am able to achieve surround sound while playing DVD's in a Pioneer DV-355 player. Any help would be greatfully appreciated. |

It appears I didn't make myself totaly clear. I can not get surround sound/DD 5.1 on DVD playback on my LG RH4810W DVD Recorder unless I enter Theater 1 or Theater 2. Can anyone help me obtain surround sound/DD 5.1 on DVD playback? Thanx. |

Do you have optical connections from the recorder to the amp? According to the users guide, the device won't do dds unless it is connected optically. Cheers |
