I have the Philips DVDR75. Every disc I record comes up copy protected because of this Macrovision thing. For instance, I may record a bog standard tv broadcast like Top Of The Pops on DVD+RW. Then I decide I want to keep one track, so I put it in my old Pioneer DV350 player and hook it up to copy. It doesn't matter if I use the scart (Ext2) socket or the Cam1 socket. Either way it comes up 'copy protected'. I've even tried copying a few DVDs that I know are NOT copy protected as I've copied them from my Pioneer to my old VCR before. Even these come up as 'copy protected' too. Philips have sent me two ugrade discs so far, both of which have failed to cure this problem. Has anyone got any suggestions or tips or better still, a hack or code to stop this Macrovision nightmare!

Don't know much about MacroVision. Is there a way to shut off MacroVision? I have the Philips DVDR72 and have never encountered this. Are you using a satalite or cable hookup when recording from a TV signal? Sorry for lack of help. I'm curious if you can ever fix this. Check out the websites below. If I had known about this I would never have purchased the DVD XCopy for $149.99. Good luck.
