Is there any fix for recording a movie off of HBO? I just bought a Toshiba D-R4 and when I tried to record a movie, it shut down because the content was protected. The whole reason I bought this system is so I could record a movie and then watch it in my bedroom. I am wondering if I should return this unit and get another brand? I like Toshiba, but I dont want to have to deal with this...Is there another unit that anyone else could recomend that is not too expensive? |

I was under the impression if the signal was protected you couldn't record it period? dvd-ram sounds like a good try. |

Supposedly they will record on RAM. I haven't tried a Toshiba, but I've seen posts from owners who said they could use RAM for copy once protected programs. |
