I'm a new member and I've been reading throught the board and hope you can answer a few questions...


1)I'm about to order Dish Network (Direct TV seems a little to expense a charges for local channels) I live in an apartment is it better to try and install it yourself, go to an indepentent seller, or directly through Dish Network.

2) DISH also asked for a letter from my landlord for permission to install but I know he won't sign, do think they will install anyway.

3) I choose the America's Top 180 package and the DISH PLAYER DVR 522 - should I upgrade to the DISH Player-DVR 942?

4)Can you recommend any websites for hacks for beginners?

Also do you need any equipment to find out were the strongest signal is coming from before installing a dish?
