ok now sometimes it will work for about an hour sometimes just 5 minutes sometimes less the picture fades to black and i shut it off i wait a bit and it will work again for another 5mins - an hour when the scren fades out the sound still works someone told me it might be too much dust buildup causing something to over heat they also said it could be one of the boards is bad and thats a $450 board to replace now i dont understand why a part for a tv thats 16 years old would cost so much well im going to get a can of air in a little while and gonna blow the whole thing out anyone have any other ideas why the tv does this |

Here's my favorite quote for your situation! Peas Unregistered guest Posted on Sunday, March 27, 2005 - 03:24 pm: "Is it the power transformer, the capacitor or something else?" "It is old age, in dog years your Tv is nearly 130 years old, that is beyond warmed over death. That dog should have been buried years ago. May it RIP and welcome to the digital generation."
