I'm wondering if there's a fix for convex bowing of the black bars on a samsung hln467w dlp t.v. I notice this bowing when watching 4:3 broadcasts with black bars on the sides. Please help!

The pin-cushion effect has been discussed on another thread by a Samsung tech as follows:

I just spoke to the manager who overseas the field engineers in Samsung I brought to his attention that a lot of our customers complaint about the pin cushion effect on 4:3 mode.
here is a copy and paste of his reply.
" The DLP is designed for peak performance in 16:9 (wide) mode. Customers key complaint is 4:3 with perceived bowing or pincusion effect that is well within specification." that being up to 1/4 of an inch.
"We" the Samsung F.E's are told that up 1/4" of an inch is within specs.
The problem arises from the screen not being perfectly straight and tight up against the back frame of the set. I have come up with a solution which we are going to test on some sets in the days to come, if it works this will resolve the issue or will correct most of the problem.
