Hey there folks,
I visited Circuit City yesterday and was torn between the Sony KDF-50WE655 and it's big brother, the 55" inch version. The salesperson said that the 55" version had a built in feature that converts all analog signals to near HD quality. Has anyone experienced this signal "conversion" feature of the 55" and is it worth the extra money?
Thanks!

Sounds like he was talking about DRC. Both sets have that. Internally, the 50WE655 and 55WF655 are nearly identical.

Other than size the main difference is the lamp. The 55 has a brigher 132W lamp. The 50's lamp is 100W.

Oh yeah -- DRC is only on for 480i signals.

And 'near HD quality' is a stretching the truth.
