There are a few sites that offer many codes for most machines. All you guys looking for region 1 player cracks so you can watch region 2 films may as well give up because in most cases it cannot be done. As fry guy says you need an engineer or to chip the player in most cases. There are sites who offer alternates to chipping such as www.dvdcodes.net and www.jvb.nl but it aint free. |

This is how to unlock the sharp HTCN400DVE DVD player !
1. press the open button on your remote to open drive tray.
2. Press and hold both the vol+ and language buttons at the same time.
3. Release the language button while still holding the vol+ button. Let the volume count up a few numbers then release vol+ button and press the language button.
If it worked you should now see a message with your current region.
5. use the up and down buttons to select the region required. (0 for multi region)
6. Press enter. |

But no worries try this, It may work.
1. When playing a DVD, press stop on the DVD Player to ensure that the disc is not spinning. (You may even want to remove the disc from the playing unit.)
2. Using the remote control, press the "Set-Up" button and advance to the far right-hand tab "Preferences". Do not hit Enter.
3. Enter Code # 1379 then use the "up & down arrows" to change the Region Code.
4. Once code is chosen, press enter.

For Jezzy's question on Samsung DVD L1200...
Older models:
1. empty tray
Then using the remote control.
2. press "repeat" key
3. press "up", "down", "right", "left" keys one by one
4. press " repeat" (or repeat A-B on some models) as final step and code number 09 (region free) will appear on screen
From shipments middle Nov 04:
1. empty tray
Then using the remote control.
2. press "repeat" key
3. press "up", "down", "right", "left" keys one by one
Current region code (e.g. 02) will appear on screen
4. using "up" or "down" key change to preferred region (09=region free)
5. press " repeat" (or repeat A-B on some models) as final step to set the code
I have a more recent model so use method two, I have not tested method one but am assured it should work by my sources.
