Now to my understanding it makes no difference in cable selection when using HDMI. Is there a significant difference in quality between generic HDMI cables and "better cables."

Thanks for providing the link. These cables will work just as good as any of the well known name brand (A.K.A. overpriced) cables. A friend of mine sets up home theater projection and commercial applications and has thoroughly tested the generic and Monster brands with absolutely no difference in picture quality. In addition, this was with cable lenghths from 25 to 50 ft.
