I have a splitter on the output side of my DirecTv receiver that sends the signal back up the line. I am reconnecting a TV in a different room that used to work fine. Now I am getting an error that says 'A short was detected....'. Everything works fine until I connect the coax to the 2nd TV. Help !

you must have a diplexer on each end of the line.so its out to tv to splitter to diplexer then anther diplexer at the end to split the signal back up.check all of your connections it only takes 1 wire inside the fitting or 1 staple outside to short out your line.
