I have a newer (2002) model 25" RCA TV that has sound but no picture. Checked a fuse on the board (ok) and checked for disconnected wires (nothing obvious)...I'm a civil not electrical engineer so anything else I can try b4 shipping it off to the shop$$$$$$

I have a older model 36" Panasonic TV (Model CT-36SF24) in the middle of watching a program the picture narrowed on the screen until it was just a few inches wide. I turned it off hoping that I could recover the full picuture and when I turned it back on it is just a black screen without any picture. Can you tell me if you know what the problem could be? Is it worth fixing?
