I need to convert my tv cable into audio output signals to my receiver. This way I can watch tv and listen through my stereo system.I've bought several converters with audio outs. But they only convert the dvd, vcr audio. Not the tv signal. Can anyone advise?

There are several ways to play your TV sound through your stereo. For example, I have a HDSat box, and run a single digital coaxial cable directly from it into my HT receiver.

If you have a cable box without inputs, you need to have audio outs on your TV. You'll run those from your TV directly into your receiver. If you dont have audio outs on either......well, then you might be out of luck, and maybe an upgrade is in order:-)

At the bare minum, you should at least have a pair of L/R audio outs on the back of your TV. If your TV is a newer model, there should be a host of 'ins and outs' in the back of your set.
