Hey guys, I am all set with 3 HDTV's but a good friend of mine is wanting to get into HD. He is looking at getting a direct-view set and has mentioned two 34" models, the Philips 34PW850H and the Daewoo DSC-34W70N. I don't know too much about HD tube sets since I went with other technology for HDTV. They both have the features and connections he is looking for but was wondering about quality and performance.

Do you have any info/opinions on these two models?

I have a Daewoo and it really is awsome, and that includes the price. Problem I have been reading is if you have a problem your stuck. I have never had a problem with my set.

I am also a huge fan of Phillips after decades of service from their products.

Both probably a good beat either way but I would get the ex-warranty on the Daewoo just in case.
