I have an 11 yr old 55" rear projection (Hitachi)that got beautiful color and picture until the flyback transformer went out. That is the same symtom another Sharon had with her tv, the red light flashes on and off but the tv won't come on. My husband talked to someone that said the government made it so replacement parts aren't required to be made after the product is 2 yrs old. This isn't right and makes it so people have to throw away perfectly good things to buy new. What happens to these tvs when they can't be repaired? Isn't there a recycle place like a junkyard for cars? I can't afford to replace the tv with another large one. My husband has bad eyesight and we can't get by with something little. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. (from Michigan)
