I have a Samsung DLP widescreen hooked up to a Sony DVD player. Even though I have them set for Wide and 16x9, respectively, all my widescreen DVDs still appear stretched. The proportions are fine if I do a 4x3 mode, but I obviously get the bars on the side, and Zoom also has the correct proportions, but I don't want to lose part of the scene. Panaramic mode also seems to work fine (ie, middle is proportion and outside is stretched non-linearly which is even more annoying). I am connecting the video via S-video ports. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks, Andy |

Try hooking up dvd player with component cables. S-video cannot pass a progressive signal. |
