I have narrowed my choices to the Sony Wega 50" lcd and the Hitachi 50v500. I was leaning toward the Hitachi. Yesterday as I played with the two sets on the showroom, I switched to a reguar off air antenna feed on both of them.
The Sony was much faster in switching channels than the Hitachi. It seemed the Hitachi almost paused a bit while loading the next channel. I would be using either set with a Dish network system so off air doesn't bother me much, but would the Hitachi be just as slow changing channels using the Dish receiver as the tuning source? I am a major channel surfer/switcher. If anyone has experience with this , please respond....I'm ready to buy one of them :-) thanks, sim

Not at all. The speed of changing the Dishnet channels will be totally dependent on the sattelite receiver.
