I am trying to convert some old family tapes onto my pc. The VCR is very old and has a RF output and an AERIAL socket on the back. Thats all.

I've tried using a standard aerial cable going from the RF output on the VCR to the AERIAL socket on my TV tuner/capture card on my pc. Then using my TV viewing software tuning into the VCR frequency and capturing from there.

But the quality is very bad and im not sure why. Wrong cable? The VCR is too old?

I also have access to a camcorder if that would make things easier?

Thanks very much.
