I recently purchased a Samsung DVD-HD840 (Product #?) and tried to connect the DVD player to my Sony HDTV using the supplied DVI cable. I purchased a monster cable adaptor to go from teh DVI cable to the HDMI input on the TV. For some reason I do not get a picture when using this configuration. I opted to use component in the meantime and though it looks great I'd love to get the DVI connection up and running. If anyone is familier with these to products could you please lend some advice? Thanks!

I have seen that alot of the up-converting DVD players don't come with the digital output as there default. I have noticed this on a few of them. I can't remember what exactly needs to be done but I'll check.

Dave, I hate to be the one to tell you this but...Samsung products are having problems all over the board. Check out some of the internet chatter. I think I would return it and obtain another brand.
