Happy New Year 2005 to ALL !
Can somesome chart how to hookup a DISH receiver with a Sony TV and RCA VCR/DVD player please?
I also have a regular cable system which I still want to use.
I'd like to be able to tape from DISH to VCR
while watching my cable TV.
I'm a complete novice at this, & hope some kind soul can guide me through this.

Roof dish coaxial cable to Dish receiver IN
Receiver OUT to RF modulator ($15 Walgreens) IN
RF modulator OUT to TV..select correct output channel 3/4 on modulator
Connect the 3 color coded cables from DVD to RF modulator,and shut OFF "progressive scan" on DVD
To do cable TV,do as above,but use cable wire in lieu of roof Dish cable to start with..

Sorry,I misread your post...the above hookup is fine for taping either Dish or cable, but I don't know how U can watch cable but tape Dish at same time...I presume some A/B switch might be necessary |

No you would need 2 ird's, the dish ird only has one tuner. |
