I’m just getting into this and I was wondering what the pros & Cons are to hacking a dish system. I only have a Dish Network dish on the side of my house that came with it. I have no reciever or other equipment and Would like to do this cheap and is hoping you peoples can point me to the right equipment, web sits & guides.

Thank You in advanced

First of all, hacking Dish is NOT cheap or easy...FTA (free to air) is much easier and cheaper, and does pickup Dishnetwork channels and Bev (Canadian Tv)..BUT, I wouldn't buy an FTA receiver (about $190,which is the only expense)now cause the signal (nagra1) they pickup for TV is being slowly replaced (now til August) with nagra2 which has not been hacked yet..if U do decide to start either Dish or FTA,then www.dsscommunity.com is a great forum for newbies, guides, files, and up to date info...and Pansat 2500a is a reliable, easy, popular FTA receiver..
