When I try to hook my Sony DVD player DVP-NS725P to my new 36" TV KV-36FS100 using the composite video connection, all I get is a rolling picture.
Any ideas?

Thanks,
Pete

You have the dvd set to progressive scan, there should be a progressive button on the front, press it to turn it off

Sorry for the basic questions, but does that mean I cannot use progressive scan with this Sony TV?

Thanks again
Pete

Yes, you need to purchace an HDTV(or EDTV) in order to use progressive scan.

...and you have to use the progressive outputs, the red, green, blue component connections.

Composite and S-video won't do it.
