I had a GoVideo dual-deck VCR unit and had the ability to "assemble" portions of a vhs tape to be copied to another.

That unit has gone dead. I'm looking for a VCR/DVD recorder unit that will allow me to take some family VHS tapes and selectively edit what portions I copy to a DVD. Straight dubbing (one touch copy)isn't what I need. Does anyone know of a unit that will let me do this? Do I need to be looking at a unit that has VCR/DVD/HDD to accomplish this?

I would rather not buy seperate components and my current PC does not have enough power (or a DVD burner) to utilize any video editing software?

Thanks for any help you can give me.
