I just got a new Sony GX300. The unit seems much better designed than my old Philips DVDR80. But there's a slight problem.

The Sony unit records a more satured picture than the Philips. And I thought that Sony's PQ would kill Philip's. You cannot adjust hue/contrast for recording, only for playback. At least I can't find this adjustment. What gives?

I can email side-by-side PC captures if you're interested.

Other than this, the Sony unit is much easier to use. Does anyone know how to turn on automatic thumbnail previews in the DVD menu? I like that Philips feature.

Oh yeah, and Philips has a Component In. But then again, you can't expect that from Sony. We are lucky enough that stingy Sony offers Component Out.
