I have a liteon 5005. there is no problem when I make one timer recording.
I can see that I will have a problem when I would want to make a few timer recordings.
It seems that I have to leave the tv. on the station that I am recording the programs from.
so my question is as follows:
how do I make a few timer recordings from different stations if I am not home?
thanks
burtshell

What the TV is on wouldn't make any difference, it comes after the recorder. Need more info, what are you recording from?

here goes:
cable from wall to a-dvd recorder tuner
b-direct tv/tivo box
directv to dvd
vcr to dvd
vcr to tv
the dvd recorder does not allow me to set up the direct tv stations so I have to have the station that i am recording from tuned in.
hope this makes sense.
thanks

Can't you set timers on the Direct TV too? I haven't used one, but they must have timers. The Direct TV should be hooked with RCA jacks. You just have to set 2 timers, one on the satellite, one on the recorder. I've been doing it for a decade.
