People beware of James millard. He is not a scammer, but he does like to prey on those without much knowledge. He has been here at Ecoustics for a long long time pushing his FTA Pansat recievers for way more $$$$$ than any good person should have to pay for one, the greedy_fucker. He hasn't always so truthful. All he wants is to make $$$$ from you. Again, I'm not saying he is such a bad guy, just make sure you do not let him rip you off. |

my stepson and i, are splitting a subscription to dtv, my son gets the local channels and i do not, he has an oval dish with 3 lnb,s and i have the old round dish with one lnb, his system was set up by daves sales staff, do i just need to get a dish like his to get the locals also, or is there someting special that has to be done, like running extra lines or programing, thanks for any help. |

one has a ROUND dish with 1 LNB,the other an OVAL triple LNB...yes the round dish will not pick up the same satellite and transponder locals as the triple oval..new locals areas require oval triple dish...old round won't get many newer locals and and could be different transponders if in another geo area too..needs a different dish if in same locals geo area,and not receiving locals on the sub..different locals area in the country use different satellites which require different dishs also.. |

I have been waiting all this time for the P4/5 hack .....but I've read it might still take a while. So Im thinking of getting a Dish system because I have no way of getting a subbed card.
But I also read that a card swap is being made by Dish (yellow cards for blue cards) and there's no hack for the new ones.
So I would appreciate an honest opinion if its a good idea to spend all that cash ($320.) on making the switch to Dish. Thanks

Yeah its worth it. First thing to think about is there is no Dave fix plus any person with a real back-round in hacking will tell you that there will be no Dave fix............for a long long while (many people post here and make wild claims, many of them even know a thing or two, but that does not constitue as having a real back-round in hacking...... for the record). So now that we have understood that our Dave IRDs will not work unless we subscibe lets talk $$$$. If one were to sub to either Dave or Charlie, the cheapest it would be for the year of programmng would be about $400 (keep in mind thats with the minimum package and no PPVs). To Dish or not to Dish, you said your cost is $320. So if you paid that money you would receive you would receive all channels including PPV, and for atleast a year. Nagra1 is expected to be up and running for the next year and a bit, then we switch to Nagra2 which we have no fix for yet. However, we are much closer to cracking Nagra2 then the P4 or P5, thats a fact. Any body that is waiting for a fix so they can watch TV again, switch to dish or you'll be waiting TVless for possibly years, no joke.
I know some of you here think the cards have been hacked, or that its been hacked and can't be unlooped (needs to be stabilized), or that you have the fix on its way any day. Don't take it personally, but its all BS. If you really want, just ask and I'll give you about 70 reasons (most of which you will not understand) why hacking the cards is no possible for now. |

Charlie it is. All reliable forums out there are saying the same thing as you SatGuru. No dave hack anywhere and none of the really smart guys even think theres going to be one at all. Man is that shity. I check all the forums out and the only people I see these days that say that the card has been hacked are James Millard, Deaf, Ken666, and the real applebee. Well there the only people saying the cards been hacked other then all the scammers out there. Three out of the four of you guys seem to be decent guys, but no offence you guys are not programmers, maybe Ken666 is I'm not sure he also does not post at this forum. Anyway my point is all the smart guys say it aint happening so I guess in aint for now.

If U just want free TV and are impatient,then go with FTA over Charlie...FTA is cheaper,easier and gets both Charlie and Bev,and up to 1000 channels...the receiver is the only expense($200)other than the roof dishs...foolish to limit yourself to just Charlie...just remember nagra 2 swap is going to affect both Charlie and FTA,just like the P4/5 did to DTV.. |

This mesage is for the bjkidd on the 2700 when you go to set up your switch on switch check make sure when your choosing the dish set up (EX)dish 300,500,or super dish you do not pick any of them and select nothing than do a switch check you should be fine.Not sure if you'll get mesage or if anyone could pass mesage on good luck. |

i came here about ten days ago, i wound up spending 220.00 for a p4andp5 hack, new loader support and i haven`t received a damn thing they said they were using a software program called extreme pso, look its a rip-off, so don`t waste your money. |

If anyone does ANY reading here,they would see it posted 1000x NOT to buy ANY P4/5 hack support from ANY site because they are ALL scammers now ..Shame on you...ALWAYS READ AND DO YOUR HOMEWORK BEFORE YOU BUY FROM ANYWHERE..
If you ever purchase anything using a credit card,then you can ALWAYS dispute it when you get the bill. |

Yes.... It happened to me....
I paid $250 for a subbed P-5 with "6 months support" .......
but after 1 month , the sreen went 721 (black)
so I had to send them my IRD and the P.5 so they could re-program it ....
but now that site has disappeard, and I've lost my $250 and also my IRD....
LOL----why was I that stupid !
Hope it doesn't happen to you........

Anybody who gets ripped off should post the site name and ALL personal info you have available of the scammer, such as name,address,phone etc at EVERY website on the net...other peeps will learn and spread the word also,and some very good peeps will hack into his world and make it a hell..
BTW...mail fraud is a very serious offense,and the scammer can be traced thru his server |

Quebec judge's decsion on foreign satellites // 2004-10-29
Making it illegal for Canadians to subscribe to television programming via foreign satellite systems infringes on their freedom of expression, a long-awaited judgment concluded yesterday.
Quebec Court Judge Danielle Cote handed down a 153-page ruling that found two sections of the federal Radiocommunication Act violate the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
Those sections deal with so-called grey-market satellite systems for decoding an encrypted programming signal.
"(Cote) had to invalidate the law because the law itself was such an infringement," said Jacques D'Argy of Drummondville, who sought the court order.
D'Argy and his brother-in-law, Richard Theriault, were charged in December 1998 with using DirecTV, a U.S. satellite system, to access U.S. signals.
Cote acquitted them in September 2000.
In June 2001, Superior Court Justice Jean-Guy Boilard rejected an appeal by government lawyers.
But in May 2002, the Quebec Court of Appeal overturned the acquittals and sent the case back to Cote.
The Supreme Court of Canada declared in 2002 that anyone who sells technology allowing consumers to access encrypted signals from U.S.-based satellite systems is committing a federal offence.
D'Argy, representing himself throughout all the court proceedings, said yesterday he always wondered "why can I import the New York Times but not (the U.S. television network) Fox."
He also noted that, at one time, "I could have spent a year in jail for watching the American Congress on C-SPAN. Does that make sense?"
"Isn't that terrific!" exclaimed Alan Gold, a Toronto lawyer who represents several grey-market satellite dealers in Ontario.
"I'm delighted, we've been waiting for this decision."
Calling it "very, very important and wonderful news," Gold said it means the federal government will no longer be able to control what Canadians watch on TV.
"This will give people the freedom to pay money and subscribe to the stations they want," he added. "It is the beginning of the end for the systems we now have."
The Coalition Against Satellite Signal Theft - which is made up of Canadian broadcasting, cable and satellite-TV interests - is studying Cote's lengthy decision.
"The only thing we know is that it's in favour of the plaintiffs," coalition official Harris Boyd, senior vice-president (industry affairs) at the Canadian Cable Television Association, said from Ottawa.
Francine Robichaud of the federal Justice Department said, "Lots of questions are raised in that judgment."
As a result, she said, the department "will take the time to analyze it in detail before deciding whether or not to appeal."
Cote extended a grace period of one year before her ruling would come into effect.
