My Sony HT-6600DP Home Theater has a Video in(Vid1), One DVD in and one Video In and Out (Vid2). I am looking into purchasing the Pany DMR-E85 DVD Recorder. My question is, does the power have to be on in order for a signal to go through these units. I will be going from the Cable Box/Satellite system and then into the DVD Recorder and then to my Home Theater Video In(Vid2). The out on my Sony Home Theater (Vid2) will then go to the TV. I am hoping to bypass the DVD Recorder in order to play DVDs on my 5-Disc DVD Player.

Will this work?
