I have a Sharp HQ[high-fi stereo] Will it work with this tv? I have regular directv,will be a while before I get HD. can I get a good picture this way? Thanks! [And yes you are dealing with a moron]

It will work, VCRs don't have a good picture, not compared to what else is out there these days. Hook the Direct TV to the VCR with RCA jacks and the VCR to the TV the same way.
