 1)Region Free : download the file:

And create a CD, put in Toshiba DVD, end choice the Region what you desire, use 0 to make your Thosiba a Region Free DVD, and press PAUSE.

2)Play SVCD :

player on with NO DISK message in drive, then press the following sequece on remote:

PAUSE, 1, 4, 7, 2

Probably your SD 4900 will be display:

55 53 00 67 14 55 64 FF

press LEFT arrow x4 (the value at the top should now correspond with the 4th value from the left in the middle of the screen)

press 6 and hold to change to F

press RIGHT and press 5 and hold to change to E

The screen will display:

55 53 00 67 14 55 FE FF

now turn off the player

The exe file will be on the RegionFreeDVD the CD, available in the shop.

With this file you have to burn a CD and play it on the DVD player.
 

The file is also available on the RegionFreeDVD CD at the shop

1. Download the rar file at the link above.
2. Unpack it using WinRAR.
3. Start Nero Burning ROM, click File, click Burn Image..., select the .cue file, click open, disable 'Determine maximum speed' and 'Simulation', at write method select Disc-at-once (this is very important), click write.
4. Push setup on the SD220e remote control, select under picture:
PAL/Auto: Auto. Push setup again.
5. Open your SD220e disc tray and insert the CD.
6. Close the disc tray.
7. The disc will be read and recognised as a VCD, you'll see the image on your television flash and after a short while you will not see any image at all. Wait about 10 seconds and take out the CD.
8. Your player is now region free. Tested it with a region 1 DVD and it worked great.
