MODEL(S) : METHOD : CONFIRMED?
DV740H 1. Open up Windows Notepad or similar text editor, and type in, or copy and paste the following text only:

TSDVDREG-2001-8939912-R0

2. Save the file as "CREGIN.TXT" (without the quotation marks)

3. Burn this single file to a CD-R using ISO 9660 Mode 1 format (not Joliet).

4. Insert the CD into the DV740H - note this is not a firmware flash, merely accessing a factory setting.

5. "R0" should appear in the bottom left of the screen - you now have a region-free player and one capable of handling RCE discs.

Incidentally, if you prefer you can make your player play just one Region, by substituting the figure after the "R" at the end of the text stream:

TSDVDREG-2001-8939912-R1 for just Region 1 playback

TSDVDREG-2001-8939912-R2 for just Region 2 playback

TSDVDREG-2001-8939912-R3 for just Region 3 playback

If you do not have access to a CDRW and want these discs, then the price of discs will be 1 UK Pound each (my discs and my time to spend cutting them etc!), or 5 UK Pounds for the set of 7 ($7.50 if using PayPal) plus 2 Pounds P&P regardless of the number of discs ordered.

Yes
