SL-D2000
SL-D2001		 Change region and enable VCD:

1. Power on the player,
2. Press Open button to open the tray,
3. Press Setup button to enter the setup menu,
4. Press 49540 on remote control in turn, ( press the keys rapidly ). A new menu line occours
5. Select VERSION and then push PLAY
6. Select REGION CODE
7. Push > button and change the region code with up/down buttons. 0 is multi region.
8. Press SETUP button to confirm.
9. You can change the VCD setting from same menu

Yes for 2001

 

MODEL(S) : METHOD : CONFIRMED?
SL-D4000 1. Power on the player.
2. Press Open/Close on the remote control.
3. Put the player in DVD mode.
4. Using the remote control, key in the following: 1, 1, 1, 1, followed by the region required.
5. If this doesn't work, try the hack below for the D5000.

SL-D4000		 1. Power on the player.
2. Press Open/Close on the remote control.
3. Type 3, 3, 0, 8 - the player displays 'XXXX' on the upper left corner. Wait until the Xs disappear.
4. Enter the desired region, 0 means region free. Wait until the the number disappears.
5. Press Open/Close on the remote control.
6. Power off.
