Author Thread: Lenoxx/Durabrand/Audio Solutions Anti-Skip CD Problems? Or is it just me.....

For some reason, if I buy a Lenoxx portable anti-skip CD player, the songs are garbled. Not OMG it's awful, but like I'm listening to a fuzzy radio station when high sounds come on.

Aha!
Try turning off the anti skip function,a nd see if the sound is clearer.
You might want to pick a recordeing or instrument where the problem is obvious, such as a trumpet solo.
If it is clearer without the antiskip, this is a good sign, sort of.
Many portable cd players use compression for the antiskip, but it is not always obvious because the sound is so mediocre to begin with. If the cd has clear sound, the problem is more audible. So to hear the difference suggests you may have a good portable. Just use it with the antiskip off when the distortion bothers you.
Also, the distortion should not occur on the radio section.
Of course, it could be that this model is just a piece of junk....
