Hi, I am looking to buy new headphones, as my old ones have just broke! I'm looking for something more than just the usual crap at local electrical stores. I want to know what are the best sounding (full range + bass) headphones, within a budget of £50 ($90 USD). I will be using the headphones primarily for music, followed closely by films. I like nice sounding bass and a nice quality full-range sound. The headphones will not be amped btw. Any suggestions will be most welcome! (I have looked at some Sennheiser headphones?? =are they good? Best models?) Thanks. |

not trying to thread hijack, but I'm also looking for good headphones that don't need to be amped. If you take price out of it, whats is the best pair of headphones you can buy? |

The Alessandro MS-1's need amping for portable use (maybe I didn't state that). I have a DELL DJ JUKEBOX, and it is insufficient, so is my wifes iPod mini. When I listen to the MS-1's through my receiver, a MARANTZ SR5400, they are dead neutral & crystal clear. |

people over at Head-fi are saying they're a better deal than the MS-1 even at twice the price, comparing them to Grado's reference stuff. And plus, its all Grado anyway, I trust him to give me a good deal. |
