Hello all,

I recently inherited a older stereo system from a relative who passed away. I am familar with most of the basic components but there is a Hughes SRS AK-100 unit that I don't know much about. I understand that it adds SRS, but is this useful in todays systems? From what I understand, almost all receivers have SRS integrated these days? Would this unit be of any benefit to a modern sound sytem or would it just be an overlap?

In addition, where would I insert the component RCA flow-wise? i.e tuner to SRS to pre-amp component?

If anyone in particular is versed on older equipment, feel free to give me your opinions on the modern use of all this equipment - i.e. does a Marantz 5300 incorporate everything below and do it better? I'm about to upgrade my existing equipment (other cheap junk not worth listing) and would like to incorporate these new pieces if they would be of benefit.

Dynakit 70
Dynaco PAT-5
Yamaha Tunner T-1020
Hughes AK-100

Thank you,

Aaron
