Interested to know if anyone has upgraded to HDTV with Directv or comparable service and were able to program their NAD remote to control the HDTV receiver box. And if so, which brand Sat. receiver did you get?

Guest,

The remote for the NAD T762 is a learning remote, so you should be able to use it to control any system. The remote can learn the functions of any other remote you may have. You point the two remotes (the NAD and the one you want to learn from) nose to nose and press the device selector button and the "record" button on the NAD. When the led light turns a reddish color, you press the button on the NAD remote that you want to "learn". You then press the cooresponding button on the other remote. Repeat this for every button that you want the NAD to "learn". It is kind of tedious as you have to go button by button, but it is certainly better than having to go through an endless number of codes to find the one for your brand of tv, etc. I have a DISH network system (Non-HD) with a DVR and it will control my system with no problems.
