Nice! After hearing sr5400/sr7400 I was almost decided to buy the Sr7400, but with the new SR5500... RS232, LipSync, video upconversion... Take a look: http://www.audioholics.com/cedia/ Lets see if the goodies on the SR7500 are worth it or I'll go to the SR5500 Or buy a cheaper SR7400... Great buy the SR4500! |

landroval et al, Did you check out the detailed specs on the 2500? Look at the power line. 130wpc x7. Then in the comments line it says " not an all channels driven spec". What kind of crap is that. While the 2400 is much improved over previous Yamaha's and the 2500 looks pretty much the same I just wish Yamaha would be as truthful in their power ratings as Marantz,H/K, PE, NAD and others. The 2400 is the first Yamaha in 20 years I think I could live with [if I had Paradigms] but their games really bother me. One thing I noticed is their mention of a "pure direct" mode. I hope they have finally woken up and made this mode like most others and in this mode the sub is active. Direct is the best way to listen to 2 channel music but the sub needs to be on. Hope they fixed this flaw. Love the new Marantz units and it looks like they will just keep getting better and better. |

Yamaha 2500 specs says "Not an all channels driven specification" so more of the same power hype IMO. I did hear good things about the new Marantz line up. Only way to really know how any of these sound is a personal audition. |

Ooops, sorry elitefan. Didn't see your power rating comment. I agree, Marantz is widening the gap from even NAD. Please no flames from the NAD crowd. |
