Crossover confusion

I don't even though if that's the right question. I have the HK 7200 receiver and it has very good bass management (JBL Studios all around). I know the receiver is capable of adjusting crossover, but I don't know at what levels I should have them. Could someone refer me to some literature please or give me a dumbed down tutorial. Many thanks
