I have a bi amped amp and I just bought a pair of biamped speakers - however my speaker wire is biamp to stereo. I cant get any output out of the new speakers. There are gold plates on the post and I am not sure the configuration to get any output

well cindy you need to remove the plates from the speakers
that's what there for, remove when biamp.

then you run a set of speaker wires to the top set
of terminals on the speakers. then another set
from the other output on the amp to the bottom terminals.
