This system was originally close to $1000 - sounds way better than anything out there for the money. Looks good too.

for about 300 USD you can get a Panasonic SA-PM39D wich has a good quality sound and also can use it for DVD movies, and so on... |

Sorry I didn't see you post earlier, but here is an excellent unit within your price range and unlike most units, has high quality transistor outputs rather than cheap IC outputs. The sound is great.
