Thread: Adcom GFP 555 II - good preamp? |

So, is it a good preamp? I want to buy it used with a GFA-555. I want it to have a volume knob/dial/switch, and work... no special features. If not, could you people show me a few cheapie preamps at audiogon.com with two preamp outs(one for amp, one for sub, that I could use simutaneously)? The cheaper the amp and preamp, the more I have for a sub. Age is no matter - as I see it, the older, the cheaper. |

well if your looking at 2channel preamps. i'm not familiar with the adcom but i'm using a b&k pt3 series II it's fairly inexpensive and for me works and sounds great. it has preamp outputs for sub/high/full frequency 3 full sets of preamp outs. i think i paid $250 for mine. it also happens to have a remote. |

Yes..its a very good pre amp,had one for 8yrs also had the 555amp and the 545II hook up to it I say go for it |
