I have a sony home theatre in a box, reciever and sat/sub combo. Movies sound good but music suffers. Would upgrading to a new reciever and 2 floorstanders be worthwhile? I would watch movies say 75% and listen to music 25%. Would I miss the surround sound? Its for a bedroom setup. Also im specifically interested in the Monitor Audio Bronze B4's. Any advice would be much appreciated. Cheers. |

Would you miss the surround sound? Only you can answer that one. I've never heard the B4's, but I did audition the B2's which I thought were pretty nice sounding for budget bookshelf speakers. Have you considered building a home theater with the B4's as your starting point. As you are able to save some money, you could add a bronze center and eventually a couple of B2's for surrounds and a sub. I think that would be a fine system for a bedroom HT. All of the Bronze series speakers, except the center channel, have a nominal impedance of 6 ohms so you should ensure that the receiver you get will have no problem driving them. |
