Can 2 independent systems (source & amplification) share the same set of speakers ? OK, here's the question in more detail : If I have a 5.1 home-theater system, and decide to get a separate stereo system for dedicated music use, can I connect both the receiver and stereo amp to the different pairs of binding posts on the front speakers simultaneously without frying one or more components ? Having the speakers connected permanently to both the receiver AND the amp would ensure that I do not have to switch the wires every time I use one or the other system (temporary solution till dedicated speakers for the stereo system are obtained). Of course, only one system will be in use at a time.
