Hi
I've got 2 Kenwood 150W 4omhs speaker laying around in my house and i have no use for them in my car. I was wondering is it possible to hook them to my home system amplifier...it a yamaha RX-V640, 8ohms.....would the Ohms difference wreak my amplifier. Any idea of what i could do with them?

Also i have a set of really old 40W car speakers...there's prob not much use for them rite??

Thanks

Your final PA amp will get hot, literally, if you crank up your amp with lower than specified impedances. You could blow a fuse in your rcvr also. If you carefully limit your levels, you might be fine, but the deeper bass notes will be be attenuated in contrast to a similarly sized 8 ohm.
