Hey everyone I've got a great Carver AVR-100 receiver that I want to keep using. It has 2 channels (with preamp ins and outs). What can I do do set up a home theater with this? Does anyone make 3.1 auxillary amps, or a processor with a 3 channel amp incorporated into it? Thanks |

If you plan to use your amp with another to carry the remaining surround channels, I can see a problem when you wish to change system volume levels, you will have to adjust both. There are a lot of other considerations, such as time delay needed because of ear distance from the speakers, and the list goes on and on. Maybe the best way to utilize your old amp is to use it for the LFE sub amp, and purchase some non-powered subwoofer enclosures. Best of luck. I know its hard to retire a good amp, I feel your pain. |

I would use the preamp ins for the main l/r, and adjust the delays on everything else to correspond (?). |
