hi, i have yamaha subwoofer yst sw320. my receiver is pioneer vsx d-711 having 100 watts with 8 ohms. but my subwoofer is 250watts with 5 ohms. i used it for past 2 months still now it had no problem. does any problem will happened in future while using this sub with pioneer amp.? thanks suresh babu(india)

You should be okay. Your receiver's capable range should be between 3-10 ohms. If anything your pioneer will be working harder thus shortening the life (If you want to look at it that way). But Pioneer is a good brand and I don't think it would affect it that much unless you really push the receiver a lot. |

If your sub is self powered, this is not even a concern. If your Sub is connected to the LFE out connector on your pioneer receiver, and it is an RCA type connector, it means your sub is self powered, and impedance is a non issue. |
