I bought a house with hard wired wall and ceiling speakers--4 pair of Infinity @4 ohm and one pair of Boston acoustic @ 8 ohm. All have volume control and 14 ga wire. I have a Yamaha CX-830 Amp and Yamaha MX-630 pre amp. I have a niles HDL-6 as a speaker selector. I have melted two of the Niles speaker selectors with the protection button ON. I think the yamaha can not handle the 4 ohm loads. Any help/suggestions appreciated. Reading messages here should I get a new receiver like a HK 325? |

Sounds like the speaker selector can't handle the watts your pumping thru it. |

Contact Niles customer service, either by phone or e-mail. I am sure they will tell you what is causing the problem. |
