I have my HK avr 430 in a shelf that only give it 1" of space on top, and 1" on each side, however there is not door so the front panel is open to air. I dont think that is enough air & I am afraid of the reciever overheating... I can smell the electronics smell when the HK is playing now, where I didnt smell it when it was in open air.

Can anyone tell me where to buy a stand alone cooling fan that I can plug into an AC outlet? All the computer fans have the 2 wires & I dont know how to make an AC plug! help please!

Try radio shack. They should have those in kits.
