hi

just want to know why 8 ohms speakers are use din Mobiles phones and not 4 ohms or 16 ohms speaker.

i understand 4 ohms will draw more current and hence are not used. in that case why 16 ohms are not used as they will draw less current than 8 ohms.

regards

.

There will be less power produced into a 16 Ohm load.

See, the phones are getting so small, that 16 won't fit. It is 8 for now, but they are on rations.

Whiz kids are working on just one really small one even as we speak. Her name is Milli.

hi Jane / Nuck

thanks for the information

then just wondering why dont we use the 4 ohms one.
is it just because it will take more current !!
and for heat transfer as more current will go in.

are these correct reasons ?

thank you very much

.

There is limited current storage in the battery. Use less currrent and the battery lasts longer. I doubt heat has anything to do with a mobile phone's speaker choice since ic's don't produce much heat.
