Hello, and thank you for taking the time to read my question.

I inherited what seemed to be a useless computer speaker setup, a Klipsch 2.1 Promedia bundle, which includes 2 satellite speakers, and a subwoofer. The subwoofer has an amp inside of the box, which powers it, however, that amp burned out after a certain amount of fiddling with it. Aside from that, the sub sounded great when it worked.

I have a simple 500watt stereo receiver hooked up to my computer that is currently powering a couple of bookshelf speakers. I would like to add this subwoofer to the setup, but am unsure how to do this without producing a simple extra speaker. I already attempted to hook up the sub to one of the speaker outputs, but it simply treats it as an extra speaker, and it does not produce much bass. Does that make sense?

Any ideas on how to make this work? The receiver model is an Insignia NS-r5100, and a description can be found here:

The Klipsch package:

Thanks very much!!
Jason

Not fixable without some knowledge and some solder, man.
Shop...and stop fiddling!
