I have a 2001 Grand am and I want to put two subs and an amplifier in the car but i want to keep the orginal HU. I could put in a new cd player but i dont want to bother mounting the orginal in the trunk. i would rather jut use the orginal and install a system to that. I was thinking i could use some sort of adapter that turns in to rca jacks. but i am open for suggestions and any help would be greatly appreciated

actually you can get a power amplifier that can accept high level audio inputs such as speaker sources from your OEM head unit. Most Power amplifiers have this capability. Visit your local car audio dealers and they will point you in the right direction.

if you want more tips on what to do go visit the car audio forum of this board. They have excellent people on that forum.
cheers
