I have people saying that they can record CD on their computer, does that require an additional software, or is that program built in every computer.

If you've got a Microsoft O/S...XP or the like you can rip CD's but you'll need burning software to be able to burn them. Dave's the man to lead ya, just give up the details on what you have and what exactly you want to do.

You can use Windows Media Player (included on pretty much every Microsoft OS) to "record" your CD to your computer, in either MP3 or WMA format. A better choice would be to rip your music to a loss-less format such as FLAC with a program like Foobar 2000 (although this option is fair bit less user-friendly).

If you have a decent computer it will have iTunes built in.

Macs may come with iTunes pre-installed, but I doubt PCs do. Its a quick and simple free download anyway.
